Abstract

Purpose: High dose chemotherapy and total body irradiation during allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHCT) may cause changes on thyroid functions. This study aims to define thyroid dysfunction may occur during posttransplant period. Materials and Methods: 68 cases with a median follow-up time of 16 months were examined retrospectively. Results and Conclusion: It is observed that three patients have developed antibody negative thyrotoxicosis in first six mounts of the posttransplant period. Two of these patients were associeted with a low uptake an one of them was with a high uptake.
