Abstract

Summer school is an application that is becoming widespread in Turkish higher education system. As well as having the chance to compensate the courses they failed during the term time, students can also attend in the program in order to increase their gpa or take a course before its term. Furthermore, summer schools can solve the problem of crowdness in some cases. In this study, description of general profile of the students who attended the summer school at Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Anadolu University has been investigated using Cluster Analysis.

Özet

Yaz Okulu, Türkiye yüksek öğretim kurumlarında giderek yaygınlaşan bir uygulamadır. Öğrenciler normal dönemlerde başarısız oldukları dersleri yaz okulunda telafi edebildikleri gibi genel not ortalamasını yükseltme ve üstten ders alma gibi nedenler ile de bu programa katılabilmektedir. Ayrıca yaz okulları kimi durumlarda normal dönemlerde derslerde meydana gelebilecek yoğunlaşmayı da bir ölçüde azaltabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Anadolu Üniversitesi İktisadi İdari Bilimler Fakültesi İşletme bölümünde açılan yaz okuluna katılan öğrencilerin genel profilinin belirlenmesi Kümeleme Analizi yardımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.
