Abstract

Neglect and careless of medical practice with medical services are evaluated as malpractice. At this study, there are three cases of big vessel injury during surgical procedure which are debated at 3rd Specialization Board of Forensic Medical Council. All cases are investigated and discussed in relation with malpractice and the role of anesthetist at clinical progress. Major Vessel Injury during spinal discal operation is an uncommon complication in surgery practice that is associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate and so very important at clinical practice. Symptoms because of vessel rupture perioperatively, may arise during or immediately after surgery, requiring immediate intervention. Early management approach with aggressive blood pressure control especially at retroperitoneal hemorrhages and serial radiological monitoring is a safe and recommended option for those with severe concomitant injuries or other medical co-morbidity that puts surgery at high risk.At first case, laceration in right arteria iliaca communis and ileum mesentery, at second laceration in iliac arteria and vein were determined by autopsy. These two cases were death because of their laceration couldn't been diagnosed and treated in time. At third case, Rupture in aorta was diagnosed peri-operatively and rupture in vessel was repaired in time without causing any complication. All cases are investigated and discussed in relation with malpractice and the role of anesthesist at clinical progress. This study represent the role of anesthesiologist in the assesment of vessel injury perioperatively and evaluate these injuries with medicolegal implications.
