Abstract
Quetiapine is a new and atypical antipsychotic agent which has a favourable risks/benefits ratio. However, in this report, we have dwelled upon sinus tachycardia resulted from quetiapine medication in two patients diagnosed as schizophrenia and schizophreniform disorder. The aim of the study is to emphasize that tachycardia and hypotension may be observed in therapeutic dose range contrasts with previously published cases. Due to sinus tachycardia, quetiapine dose was decreased and a beta blacker drug was added in the first case, but quetiapine was discontinued in the second case. However, it is pleasant that there was no evidence of QTc prolongation in both the patients. It may be suggested that the clinicians should consider tachycardia in patiejits treated with quetiapine even though within therapeutic range.

Ketiapin elverişli yarar ve risk oranına sahip yeni bir atipik antipsikotiktir. Bu yazıda antipsikotik tedavi gerektiren şizofreniform bozukluk ve dezorganize tip şizofreni tanılı hastalarda ketiapin kullanımı ile meydana gelen taşikardi üzerinde durulacaktır. Amacımız ketiapin tedavisi sırasında daha önceki yayınlarda hakkında sınırlı sunum olan ve toksik dozlarda olduğu bildirilen taşikardi ve hipotansiyon yan etkilerinin terapötik tedavi aralığında da önemini vurgulamaktır.
