Abstract

Objective: In this study, suitability of Four Systems Anxiety Questionnaire (FSAQ) in monitoring the response to medication in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is investigated. Method: Participants were 16 OCD patients. Dose of medication was increased to the recommended level and treatment continued f or 12 weeks. The patients were administered FSAQ and Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) at the beginning and on the 12th week of treatment. Results: There were no differences between FSAQ and its subscale scores at the beginning and on the 12th week of treatment (p> 0.05). A significant difference was observed between the beginning and 12th week Y-BOCS scores (p< 0.05). No significant relationships were found between Y-BOCS and FSAQ scores. Conclusion: In conclusion, FSAQ is not a suitable scale in monitoring the severity of the disorder and response to medication in OCD patients.

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Dört Sistem Endişe Envanteri'nin (DSEE) Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluk'ta (OKB) ilaç tedavisine yanıtın izlenmesinde uygunluğu araştırılmıştır. Yöntem: OKB tanısı alan 16 hasta çalışmaya alınmıştır. Kullanılan ilaçların dozları OKB tedavisinde önerilen doza kadar yükseltilmiş ve tedaviye 12 hafta devam edilmiştir. Hastalara tedavinin başlangıcında ve 12. haftasında Yale-Brown Obsesyon Kompulsiyon Ölçeği (Y-BOCS) ve DSEE uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Tedavinin başlangıcındaki ve 12. haftasındaki DSEE toplam ve alt sistem puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmamıştır (p> 0.05). Tedavinin Y-BOCS puanlarında anlamlı farklılıklar yarattığı saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Y-BOCS toplam puanı, obsesyon ve kompulsiyon alt ölçeklerinin puanları ile DSEE toplam ve alt sistemlerinin puanları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamıştır. Tartışma: DSEE'nin OKB hastalarında üaç tedavisinin yarattığı hastalığın şiddetindeki azalmayı göstermede ve tedaviye yanıtı izlemede uygun bir ölçek olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
