Abstract

In this study, 27 Yersinia enterocolitica strains isolated from white cheese and pasteurized milk were investigated for their virulent characteristics. For this purpose, cultures were examined for calcium dependency autoagglutination and serum sensitivity tests. As a result, 7 strains isolated from white cheese and 2 strains isolated from pasteurized milk were found to be positive for all tests. Autoagglutination test was also found to be more practicable and less time consuming test than that of the other tests used for determination of virulence character.
