Abstract

Coaches' expectations and beliefs seem to be related to better performance of athletes. Psychological conditions of the coaches are very important in the success of the athletes. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine the relationship between canoe coaches' psychological resilience levels, perceived self-efficacy expectations and life satisfaction, and to make comparisons based on marital status, occupation (except coaching) and coaching levels. The sample of the study consists of canoe coaches, who participated in the technical course for coaches/canoing between 06-08 December 2019. 71 trainers with a mean age of 33.39 (sd: 8.230) participated in the study voluntarily. 'Short Psychological Resilience Test', 'Perceived Self-Efficacy Expectation Scale' and 'Life Satisfaction Scale' were applied to the participants. In the analysis of the data obtained, pearson correlation test was used to examine the relationship between canoe coaches' psychological resilience, life satisfaction and perceived self-efficacy levels, independent sample t test in parametric distributions, and kruskal wallis test in multiple comparisons of non-parametric distributions. At the end of the research, it was found that there was a positive correlation between life satisfaction of the canoe coaches and their coaching levels. In addition, there was a positive correlation between perceived self-efficacy and psychological resilience and life satisfaction.
