Abstract

Due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies, governments needed a good control mechanism in many areas such as targeting to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the services they offer, increasing tax revenues, reducing corruption, ensuring citizen satisfaction and control of public services. In this framework, e-government applications provided important opportunities for the states to reach their policy targets. From this point, the high performance in e-government use depends on the low level of input variables, especially the low level of corruption and high level of output variables. Within the scope of this study, the effect of the level of corruption on the e-government application performances of the OECD countries for 2018 over the selected e-government indicators was investigated with the data envelopment analysis method. The models in the analysis were solved in LINDO package program. As a result of the data envelopment analysis application, the effective countries; Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand Korea, Norway, Mexico, Turkey, Slovakia, the US and Spain, the ineffective countries; Australia, Austria, Greece, Canada, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Portugal, and Slovenia.
