Abstract

Abstract The B2C domain of e-commerce and the recent e-business models targeting consumers in any sector are becoming popular rapidly. This accelerated change makes it very important to design and test models in the process of both understanding online consumers and predicting their purchase intentions. The objective of this study is to investigate the factors influencing private shopping conceptin Turkey. The model based on the scales of E-S-QUAL ve E-recS-QUAL explaining the effects of various factors on pri- vate shopping intentions is developed and then tested empirically through a longitudinal study with two different surveys conducted in 2012 and 2014. While the data collected in 2012 showed that the dimen- sion of e-service quality with a significant impact on private shopping decisions was“efficiency”,the data collected in 2014 added the second emerging e-service quality dimension of “contact” with a significant impact on customer satisfaction leading to e-purchase intention. The implications of the findings both in theory and practice are discussed.
