Elliott Wave Principle is a form of technical analysis that tries to explain movement dynamics of price by accepting collective psychology as endogenous variable. The principle assumes that mass mood moves between opposite emotions, by following recognisable and consistent patterns. Wave Principle’s primary concern is to decribe how market behaves. To determine movement pattern of price makes it possible to forecast. In this study, price movement in gold market is examined with Elliott Wave Principle. As a result of analysis, findings shows that price movement in gold market swings according to Elliott Wave Principle and thus hypothesis that price movement in gold market can be analyzed by Elliott Wave Principle is supported.

Elliott Dalga Prensibi, kolektif yatırımcı psikolojisini içsel değişken kabul ederek fiyatın hareket dinamiklerini açıklamaya çalışan bir teknik analiz yöntemidir. Prensip, kitlesel ruh halinin birbirine zıt duygular arasında, tanımlanabilir ve tutarlı şablonları takip ederek hareket ettiğini savunmaktadır. Dalga Prensibinin birincil amacı piyasanın davranışlarını tanımlamaktır. Fiyatın takip ettiği hareket kalıbının tespit edilmesi, geleceğe dair tahmin yapmayı mümkün kılmaktadır. Çalışmada, altın piyasasındaki fiyat hareketleri Elliott Dalga Prensibi yardımıyla incelenmiştir. Yapı- lan analizlerde elde edilen sonuçlar, Elliott Dalga Prensibinde belirtilen döngüsel kalıpların, altın piya- sasındaki fiyat hareketlerinde var olduğunu göstermiş ve böylece altın fiyat hareketlerinin Elliott Dalga Prensibi ile analiz edilebileceği hipotezini desteklemiştir.
