Abstract

Rapidly evolving technology and their usage has penetrated into society. There have also been changes in terms of communication technologies and visual communication. These technologies of network society have facilitated interdisciplinary studies and have lifted the boundaries to the point where they are almost invisible. Visual communication nourished by art and design couldn’t avoid has transformed. The main purpose of this study was to examine glitch as new media art and its reflection to visual process. The research design for this study was an interpretive approach that was analyzed through qualitative methods. The data collection process was designed in 2 phases including semi-structured interviews and document analysis. In the first phase, glitch-themed practice was carried out with voluntary participation of these designers. In the second phase semi-structured interviews were held with designers in the sense of glitching. The results were collected within a certain period of time, and the researched conducted in-depth interviews with the designers and interpreted them in the context of glitch and visual process. After collecting all the data from designers, they were resolved through thematic analysis method. According to the results of this research, glitch as new media art has an impact on visual process and has transformed some basic phenomenon of aesthetic and visual representation.
