Abstract

Objective: Aim of our study is to investigate whether using different irrigation systems (EndoVac (Discus Dental, Culver City, CA, ABD), EndoActivator (Dentsply, Tulsa, OK) and Endo-Eze (Ultradent Product, South Jordan, UT, USA) irrigation tip) induces connection strength or not. Material and Method: 45 properly chosen extracted and standard teeth were used in our study. Instrumentation performed using Protaper Next (Ni-Ti) files (Dentsply Maillefer, Balaigues, Switzerland) in crown-down technique. Irrigation of teeth is performed using EndoEze irrigation tips with 1 ml NaOCl with 5.25% of concentration during instrumentation and separated into 3 groups in final irrigation unlike the first stage. Irrigation performed of NaOCl with 5.25% and of EDTA with 17% concentration using EndoVac, EndoActivator and Endo-Eze respectively. Subsequently, obturation is performed properly to single-cone technique using AH-Plus Jet canal sealer and Protaper Next gutta-percha. Samples, consisting of 1 mm wide horizontal sections are connected to Shimadzu Universal Testing Machine (Shimadzu Corporation, Kyoto, Japan). Push-out force is applied till the observation of fail in canal filling to dentine connection and these values are saved in Newton unit. As push-out connection strength values obtained in the study showed normal distribution, One way ANOVA and Tukey's Post Hoc tests are used to determine the difference between groups (p=0.05). Results: According to statistical results, it is determined that samples in the group using EndoVac irrigation system showed higher connection strength. Conclusion: EndoVac irrigation system is presented significantly superior to other systems in connection strength of the canal root filling material to the root canal
