In this article, the clinic-pathologic and pathologic findings of purulent encephalitis observed in an Akkaraman flock in a local farm were described. Grossly, the foci of abscess and necrosis up to 4-6 mm diameter were seen in medulla oblongata, pons and cerebral hemispheres, and histopathologically microabscesses and purulent meningoencephalitis were detected. It has been considered that these cases might be an outbreak of a listeriosis.

Bu makalede, bir aile işletmesinde yetiştirilen Akkaraman ırkı koyun sürüsünde gözlenen purulent ensefalitisin klinik-patolojik ve patolojik bulguları değerlendirilmiştir. Makroskobik olarak beyinde medulla oblongata ve pons ile hemisferlerin korteksinde 4-6 mm büyüklüğünde apse-nekroz odakları, mikroskobik olarak ise mikroapseler ve purulent meningoensefalitis tablosu gözlenmiştir. Söz konusu olguların listeriozis olabileceği kanaatine varılmıştır.
