Abstract

The importance of the role of inflammation in allergic asthma and IgE has been better understood in recent years. Omalizumab is an anti IgE antibody which has demonstrated efficacy among pa tients with moderate to severe persistent allergic asthma, whose symptoms are inadequately controlled with other agents. This the rapy is generally well tolerated but has a potentially life-threate ning risk of anaphylaxis. In this case report we aimed to emphasize the mechanism, management and preventive precautions in omali zumab associated anaphylaxis.

Özet

Astımda alerjik enflamasyonun önemi ve IgE’nin oynadığı rol son yıllarda daha iyi anlaşılmıştır. Omalizumab, semptomları diğer ilaçlarla kontrol altına alınamayan orta ve ileri derecede alerjik astımı olan hastalarda etkinliği gösterilmiş anti IgE antikorudur. Genellikle iyi tolere edilen bu tedavinin nadir olmakla birlikte po tansiyel olarak hayatı tehdit edici anafilaksi riski vardır. Bu olgu su numunda omalizumaba bağlı anafilaksi olası mekanizmaları ve te davi yaklaşımları ile önleyici tedbirlerin vurgulanması amaçlandı.
