Abstract

Karamenüş’and ‘Yayla’grape varieties were brought to Tekirdağ Viticulture Research Institute collection vineyards from Malatya and Bolu provinces by the project of “Researches on Determination, Preservation and Description of Vine Genetic Sources of Turkey.”Subsequentstudies were determined that they can take place in the quality class in terms of wine characteristics. Varieties were registered in the national varieties list inline with these studies. In this study, it was aimed to determine the bioclimatic demands and to calculate the potentials of some of the provinces where these varieties are likely to be widespread economically and ecologically. As a result, according to the Branas hydrothermal indice and Winkler indice values above 2900.00 °C.mm and below 1800.00 day-degree for Yayla grape variety and values over 4500.00 °C.mm and below 1700.00 day-degree may be risky for the cultivation of Karamenüş variety. According to Jones indicator, it is more suitable to grow both varieties in regions with average temperature above 19.00 °C during vegetation period.
