Abstract

Cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) is an entity of unknown etiology characterized histologically by granulation tissue plugs within the lumens of small airways extending into the alveolar ducts and alveoles. The typical presenting symptoms and signs are dyspnea, fever, cough, weight loss, and a chest radiograph with single or multiple alveolar opacities. We followed up four BOOP cases with similar clinical and different radiological presentation. Pathological diagnosis was based on CT guided lung biopsy in all of them. We observed rapid clinical and radiological improvement although they have different radiological manifestations. We aimed to review the literature together with a presentation of clinical and radiological findings of our four cases.
