Abstract

An esophageal leiomyoma originating from Cajal cells is reported. A forty-three-year-old woman presented with dysphagia, pain, and weight loss. A filling defect was detected on upper gastrointestinal X-rays. Computed tomography and endoscopy showed an esophageal intramural tumor. Following a right thoracotomy, the tumor was excised from the esophageal wall by blunt dissection without any injury to the underlying esophageal mucosa. Diagnosis was confirmed by histopathologic examination. In the postoperative period, the complaints of the patient completely disappeared and no recurrence was detected during a follow-up period of 30 months.

Özet

Bu yazıda özofagusun Cajal hücrelerinden kaynaklanan leiomiyom sunuldu. Disfaji, ağrı ve kilo kaybı şikayetleriyle başvuran 43 yaşındaki kadın hastada özofagus pasaj grafisinde dolum defekti görülmesi üzerine endoskopi ve bilgisayarlı tomografi incelemeleri yapılarak özofagusta intramural kitle belirlendi. Sağ torakotomiyle girilerek, kitle, mukozayı yaralamaksızm kunt diseksiyonla Özofagus duvarından eksize edildi. Histopatolojik inceleme sonucu tanı Özofagus leiomiyomu olarak kesinleşti. Ameliyat sonrası dönemde hastanın şikayetleri ortadan kalktı ve 30 aylık izlem sırasında herhangi bir nüks görülmedi.
