Abstract

Toxaemia of pregnancy, occurs usually in the third trimester of pregnancy and may be the cause of severe visual loss. The serous retinal detachment in toxemia of pregnancy is attributed to choroidal vascular insufficiency. Fundus autofluorescence is a non-invasive imaging technique that enables the visualization of lipofuscin material in the retinal pigment epithelium. Serous retinal detachment in acute toxemia of pregnancy causes hypoautofluorescence, due to accumulation of subretinal fluid. We present hereby autofluorescence imaging characteristics of three cases with various severity of retinal involvement secondary to toxemia of pregnancy.

Özet

Gebelik toksemisi, genellikle gebeliğin üçüncü trimestrinde ortaya çıkan ve ağır görme kaybına neden olabilen bir hastalıktır. Gebelik toksemisine ikincil gelişen seröz dekolman, koryoidal vasküler yetmezliğe sonucu görme kaybına neden olabilir. Fundus otofloresans, retina pigment epitelinde toplanan lipofusin materyalinden kaynaklanan noninvazif bir tekniktir. Akut gebelik toksemisinde subretinal sıvı birikimiyle ortaya çıkan seröz dekolman retina pigment epitelindeki lipofusini maskeleyerek hipootofloresans görünüme neden olur. Bu çalışmada gebelik toksemisi gelişen farklı derecelerde retinal etkilenme gösteren üç olgunun fundus otofloresans görüntü özellikleri sunulmuştur.
