Abstract

This research was conducted in May 1996, in order to determine the knowledge and attitude of personnel applying manicure, pedicure and epilation (with sting) in hair dressers and beauty shops in Ankara concerning HIV/AIDS. 112 people applying epilation with sting and 377 applying manicure-pedicure were included the research. The research was a cross sectional study, and the date were collected through a questionnaire. The average knowledge score of the individuals based 100score took part in the research is X:63.7±9.7. It is seen that educational level and the professional training in this field have a positive effect on knowledge level.

Bu araştırma Ankara 'da kuaförlük ve güzellik salonlarında manikür, pedikür ve epilasyon (iğneyle) yapan personelin HIV/AIDS konusundaki bilgi ve tutumlarını belirlemeye yönelik Mayıs I996'da yapılmıştır, iğneyle epilasyon uygulayan 112, manikür-pedikür yapan 377 kişi araştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırma kesitsel türde olup, veriler anket tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılımların HIV/AİDS konusundaki bilgi puanı x:63.7±9.7 dır. Öğrenim düzeyi, ve bu konuda alınan eğitim bilgi düzeyini olumlu yönde etkilemiştir.
