Abstract

Twin reversed arterial perfusion syndrome, also known as acardiac monster, acardiac acephalus, acardius and pseudocardiac anomali, is a rare condition occuring once in 100 monozygotic twins in every 35.000 deliveries. Case: The patient was gravida 2, partum 2; aged 26 years at 36th gestational week. The autopsy findings revealed that there were no head, thorax and upper extremities and it was diagnosed as twin reversed arterial perfusion syndrome macroscopically, radiologically and microscopically. Conclusion: The twin reversed arterial perfusion syndrome is a rare condition which has an interesting macromorphology. Perinatal follow up is important for the diagnosis of this syndrome in utero as early as possible.

Özet

Amaç: Twin reversed arterial perfusion sendromu akardiak monster, akardiak asefalus, akardius, psödokardiak anomali olarak da adlandırılan 35.000 doğumda, 100 monozigot ikizde 1 görülen nadir bir anomalidir. Olgular: 26 yaşında gravida 2, partum 2; 36 haftalık gebeden ikiz gebelik eşi fetus patoloji laboratuvarına gönderildi. Otopsi için gönderilen fetus 4000 gr. ağırlığında, üst ekstremiteler, baş ve torakal bölge içermemekte idi. Radyolojik, makroskobik ve mikroskobik bulgularla twin reversed arteial perfusion sendromu tanısı konan olgu sunulmuştur. Sonuç: Twin reversed arterial perfusion sendromu ilginç makromorfolojiye sahip, perinatolojik takiplerle tanısı konabilen nadir görülen bir fetal anomalidir.
