Abstract

Aim: QT interval, reflecting ventricular depolarization and repolarization time, is the measurement of between the beginning of QRS wave and the end of T wave. As it is cheap and practical, the measurement of QT dispersion has become most popular recently. Material and Method: In this study we studied on 49 low risk, 90 intermediate risk and 122 high risk totally 261 patients according to AHCPR’s (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research) unstable angina pectoris risk analizes classification who accepted emergency departement of Cardiology Institute of Haseki of Istanbul University and their QT interval measurement has calculated. Results: While QT interval was greater or equal than 50 msec. hospital complications were significantly higher and its reliability were as close as troponin except positive predictory value. Conclusion: We concluded that although not reliable as much as troponin, QT dispersion measurement is inexpensive, simple and a practical method to determine hospital complications but broad and multiway studies is needed.
