Abstract

Aim: To determine which changes in the tricüspid annular motion with pulsed tissue doppler take place and the relation of them with the flow ratio(QP/QS) in the patients with atrial septal defect(ASD). Material and Methods: 20 patients with ASD diagnosed by catheterization and 20 healty subjects were included in the study. From apical four chamber views, early (E) and late diastolic velocities (A) of tricuspid inflow were measured with pulsed Doppler. From tricuspid annular region, the samples of velocities by pulsed wave tissue Doppler were recorded. Systolic (St), early diastolic (Et) and late diastolic (At) velocities were measured respectively. The means of the measurements of two groups were compared. Moreover, the correlation of them with QP/QS were investigated in the ASD group. Results: We found the statistical significance between groups with respect to the means of St (20.6±3.5 cm/s for the ASD group, 15.4±2.4 cm/s for the normal group) and the means of not only E and A velocities but also E/Et and A/At ratios (p<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences with regard to other measurements in between two groups. The mean of QP/QS was 2.4±0.5.We didn't find any correlation with any the measurements and QP/QS. Conclusion: In ASD, while the velocities of E and A of tricuspid inflow by pulsed Doppler and the systolic velocities of tricuspid annular motion by pulsed tissue Doppler were increased, the diastolic velocities remained unchanged. Also, there wasn't any correlation of these changes with QP/QS.

At, E/Et, A/At) arasındaki korelasyona bakıldı. Bulgular: ASD grubunda St ortalaması 20.6±3.5 cm/sn iken kontrol grubunda 15.4±2.4 cm/sn olarak bulundu (p<0.05). Ayrıca, grupların E, A akım hız, E/Et ve A/At oran ortalamaları arasında fark tespit edildi (p<0.05). Her iki grup arasında, ölçülen diğer ekokardiyografik parametre ortalamaları bakımından istatistiksel anlamlı fark bulunmadı. ASD grubundaki QP/QS oran ortalaması 2.4±0.5 idi.
