Abstract

Acute anterior myocardial infarction caused by occlusion of left main coronary artery is not a common event. It carries a high mortality and morbidity rate due to more than 75% of the myocardial perfusion supplies from left main coronary artery. Although surgical treatment often suggest its not clear that the certain treatmen tof the acute thrombosis of left main artery due to lack of controlled randomized studies. Fourtynine year old male patient with acute anterior myocard infarct and cardiogenic shock admitted to the Emergency Department. The patient underwent coronary angiography which revealed 100% oclusion of the left main coronary artery with thrombus. The patient was successfully treated with percutaneous coronary intervention. The patient was discharged in a stable condition which coronary artery by-pass greft treathment at Cardiovascular Surgery Department.
