Abstract

Coronary artery disease is the most common cause of death today, every day new technologies are introduced in order to prevent this disease and avoid negative consequences. Drug eluting stents are technologies that proven in various studies reduced in stent restenosis compared to bare metal stents in coronary artery disease. In this paper, the structure of drug eluting stents, comparative studies and the recommendations mentioned in the guidelines are revised.
