Abstract

Acquired ocular motor apraxia is characterized by head thrusts on attempted gaze and failure of horizontal and vertical saccadic movements which is found to be a frequent feature of herediter ataxias. Herein, we report a case of acquired ocular motor apraxia in a 10 year old boy with ataxia telengiectasia who demonstrated typical head thrusts and restricted saccadic eye movements on both horizontal and vertical planes

Özet

Akkiz oküler motor apraksi sıklıkla herediter ataksilere eşlik eden, horizontal ve vertikal sakkadik göz hareketlerinin yetmezliği ile birlikte sıçrayıcı baş hareketleri ile karakterize bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada ataksi telenjektazi tanısı konulmuş olan 10 yaşında bir erkek olguda horizontal ve vertikal bakış pozisyonlarında ortaya çıkan tipik sıçrayıcı tarzdaki baş atma hareketi ve bu yönlerdeki sakkadik hareketlerde kısıtlılık ile karakterize akkiz oküler motor apraksi tanımlanmıştır
