Son yıllarda topikal ve sistemik tedavilerin kullanım sıklığının artması, yapılan cerrahiler sonrası hastaların hayat kalitele- rinin, konforunun öne çıkması ve artan kozmetik girişimler, dikkatlerin iatrojenik kuru göz üzerinde yoğunlaşmasına neden olmuştur. Bu farkındalık Kuru Göz Çalıştayı II Raporu’nda iatrojenik kuru gözün ayrı ve ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınmasına yol açmıştır. En iyi tedavi yöntemi öncelikle etkenlerin ortadan kaldırılması olduğundan, uyguladığımız tedavilerin kuru göz etyopatogenezindeki rollerini anlamak son derece önem taşımaktadır.
