Abstract

Strabismus surgery is intervention on the extraocular muscles and infrequently causing vision threatening complications. Choroidal effu- sion resulting from choroidal trauma occuring during deep scleral passage of surgical needle, is a rare complication of strabismus surgery. We aimed to describe a case with choroidal injury occuring during strabismus surgery; which was interesting because of causing choroidal effu- sion with threatening of vision in the postoperative period. Choroidal effusion might result in vision threatening complications if it’s not diag- nosed and treated early. Therefore, detailed follow-up examinations should be done for early diagnosis and treatment.
