Abstract

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis is a problem restraining the patient from a normal diet and normal speech that causes severe facial deformation and psychological stress. Alternatives in literature represent controversy in its management. Early diagnosis and excision with reconstruction of ankylosed TMJ by means of implantation, improves patient rehabilitation and self confidence. This article presents our clinical experiences on five patients about surgical treatment with titanium implant of TMJ ankylosis.

Özet

Temporomandibular eklem (TME) ankilozu hastaların konuşma ve beslenme fonksiyonlarını olumsuz yönde etkileyen onlarda ciddi psikolojik sıkıntılar yaratan bir rahatsızlıktır. Literatürde tedaviye ilişkin çok sayıda yöntem mevcuttur. Erken teşhis ve ankiloze olmuş eklemin rekonstrüksiyonu hastanın güvenliği ve rehabilitasyonu açısından önemlidir. Biz bu çalışmamızda, TME ankilozu cerrahi tedavisinde titanyum kondil implantı uygulamalarımızı beş vaka üzerinde göstermek istedik
