İskemik kalp hastalığı olan, 59 yaşında bir erkek hasta Acil Bölümümüze karın ağrısı ile başvurmuştur. Daha önce sigara içmekte olduğunu, halen alkol kullandığını belirtmiştir. Batın bilgisayarlı tomografi sonuçlarının incelenmesinde pankreasta şişme görülmüş ve portal ve superior mezenterik vende tromboz saptanmıştır. Renkli Doppler ultrasonografi sonuçlarının incelenmesinde ise bu durum daha açık bir şekilde görülmüştür. Hastaya polisitemia vera teşhisi konulmuştur.
