Abstract

OBJECTIVES: We aimed to compared clonidine with meperidine and saline for treating postanesthetic shivering after cesarean section with extradural anesthesia. MATERIAL AND METHOD: In this prospective, double- blinded, randomized study, sixty healthy partruient who recorded epidural block for cesarean section and allocated randomly to three groups. The patients were randomly assigned to receive on intravenous bolus of 1,5 g / kg clonidine, 0,5mg /kg meperidine and saline. All patients received extradural anesthesia 10 minutes later. RESULTS: Postanesthetic shivering was occurred in 8 of 20 patients given saline. In contrast, shivering was absent in-patients given meperidine and clonidine. CONCLUSION: We conclude that preventive use of i.v. clonidine 1,5 g /kg and 1 mg /kg meperidine provides a significant reduction in the incidence of part-extradural shivering without clinically relevant adverse side effects.

Özet

AMAÇ: Ekstradural anestezili sezaryen sonrası anestezi sonrası görülen titremenin tedavisinde klonidin ve meperidinin etkisini salin verilen kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırmayı amaçladık. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Bu prospektif çift kör randomize çalışmada, sezaryen operasyonuna alınan 60 sağlıklı gebeye epidural blok uygulandı ve 3 gruba ayrıldı. Hastalara gruplara göre 1,5 g /kg klonidin, 0,5 mg /kg meperidin ve salin verildi. 10 dk. Sonra tüm hastalara ekstradural anestezi uygulandı. BULGULAR: Salin grubunda 20 hastadan 8 hastada titreme görüldü. Klonidin ve meperidin grubunda hiçbir hastada titreme görülmedi. SONUÇ: Biz 1,5 g /kg klonidin ve 1 mg /kg meperidinin önemli klinik yan etkiye neden olmaksızın post-ekstradural titremeyi azalttığı sonucuna vardık.
