Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the mode of delivery and fetal distress rates in 40 completed weeks of gestational age. Materials and Methods: The study group consisted of 2884 patients. Maternal age, gravidity, parity, gestational age at birth, mode of delivery, fetal birth weights were analyzed. Result: 75% of the patients were at 40 completed weeks of gestational age, 20% were at 41 completed weeks of gestational age, 4.85% were at 42 completed weeks of gestational age. In the analysis of maternal ages, 38% of the patients were in the 21-25 years old group and the mean maternal age at birth was 24. 41.2% of the patients were primigravid, 46.6% of the patients were nullipar. In the evaluation of the modes of delivery, vaginal birth rate was 74% and cesarean section rate was 25.8%. Among the cesarean births, the rate of fetal distress indication was 32%. The highest rate of birth weight was 42% with 3000-3500 gr. group. Conclusion: Cesarean birth rate was similar but fetal distress rate was higher than the literature. The high rate of fetal distress and cesarean birth in 40 completed weeks of gestational age is challenging.

Özet

Amaç: 40. gestasyonel haftasını tamamlamış gebelerde doğum şekli ve fetal distres oranlarını inceleyerek artmış riski öngörmektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: 40. gestasyonel haftasını doldurmuş 2884 gebe çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların maternal yaş, gravida, parite, doğumda gestasyonel yaş, fetusların doğum şekli ve doğum ağırlıkları incelenmiştir. Bulgular: Hastaların %75'i 40. gebelik haftasını, %20'si 41. gebelik haftasını, %4.8'i 42. gebelik haftasını tamamlamıştır. Maternal yaşlar incelendiğinde hastaların %38'i 21-25 yaş grubunda olup, ortalama maternal yaş 24 dür.
