Abstract

Honey bee, Apis mellifera L. is the most important pollinator of agriculture crops in the World. It is accepted very much a part of modern agricultural picture. Developed countries in agriculture, more than 50 % of honey bee colonies were rented for pollination purposes on various cultivated plants. It is well expected that the application of renting honey bee colonies for pollination purposes will help to increase the quality and quantity of the agricultural crops as well as apiculture in Turkey. This can be easily situmulated by fund or grants offered by the goverment to the growers. Key Words: Honey Bee, Apis mellifera, Pollination,
