Abstract

This study was performed to determine the chemical properties of some standard varieties of apricotsgrown in the Van region. Recently, tocopherols and phenolic substances with anti-oxidant properties are of greatimportance for human health. In this research, seeds of three standard apricot (Bebeco, Sakıt, and Colomer) varietieswere examined with respect to phenolic compounds, vitamin A and tocopherol content. In addition; catechin, epicatechin, caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, chlorogenic acid and routine have been detected. Accordingto findings, catechin between 9.34 and 12.30 μg g-1, epicatechin between 1.82 and 3.21 μg g-1, caffeic acid between1.04 and 1.32 μg g-1, p-coumaric acid content μg g-1, between 0.56 and 1.26, ferulic acid between 1.39 and 2.17 μgg-1, routine between 64.12 and 73.06 μg g-1, and chlorogenic acid between 3.17 and 4.09 μg g-1 were determined.Vitamin A varied from 4.61 to 6.60 mg g-1. Based on the amount of tocopherol, alpha tocopherol 0.011- 0.015 mgg-1, the amount of gamma-tocopherol, 0.001-0.016 mg g-1, the amount of delta tocopherol 0.00-0.007 mg g-1 wereobserved. The survey also examined beta-tocopherol, also not identified in all three types. As a result, more detailedresearch is suggested in the region with special emphasis on the potential of growing apricots.

A vitamini 4.61-6.60 µg g-1 arasında değişiklik gösterdiği belirlenmiştir.
