Abstract
In this study, we examined 60 enterococcus strains which were isolated from various clinical materials. 56 E. faecalis (93%), 4 E. faecium (7%) were the species most frequently isolated. Susceptibility testing to some aminoglycoside and vancomycin for enterococcus strains were assessed by the NCCLS microdilution assay. None of strains were found resistant for vancomycin. Resistance against gentamicin, tobramycin and amikacin were determined in 50, 49 and 3 of E. faecalis strains respectively. All of the E. faecium strains were found resistant against to all aminoglycosides.
Özet
Çeşitli klinik örneklerden izole edilen 60 enterokok suşunun 56'sı (%93) E. faecal is, 4'ü (%7) E. Faecium olarak identifiye edilmiştir. Bu suşların bazı aminoglikozidlere ve vankomisine karşı direnç durumları National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standans (NCCLS) önerilerine uyularak mikrodilüsyon yöntemi ile araştırılmıştır. Vankomisine dirençli köken saptanmamıştır. E. faecalis suşlarının 50'si gentamisine, 49'u tobramisine ve 34'ü amikasine, E. faecium suşlarının ise tamamı tüm aminoglikozidlere dirençli bulunmuştur.
