Abstract

Aim: To evaluate demografic features, treatment indications, respond to the treatment of 56 chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients observed at our department of Hematology, Izmir Bozyaka Traning and Research Hospital. Material and Method: Data of 56 CLL patients were evaluated retrospectively. Findings:Twenty four patients (%42.9) were female, and 32 patients (%57.1) were male. The average age of the patients was 65 years old. While 23 patients recieved treatment, 33 patients were observed only. Five patients were treated by chloram- busil, 5 patient by cyclophosphamid-fludarabine therapy, and 13 patients were treated by rituximab-cyclophosphamid- fludarabine therapy. The median survival was 120 months. Four patients died because of CLL, and 2 patients died due to the other reasons. Conclusion: Relatively shorter survival in our study may be explained by the high rate of advanced stages on admission in our series.

Özet

Amaç: İzmir Bozyaka Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi Hematoloji Kliniğinde izlenen 56 hastanın demografik verileri, tedavi endikasyonları, tedavi yanıtları ve sağkalım analizlerinin yapmak. Gereç ve Yöntem: Kronik lenfositik lösemi tanısıyla izlenen 56 olgunun verileri geriye dönük incelendi. Bulgular: Çalışmamızda, hastalarımızın 24’ü (%42.9) kadın, 32’si (%57.1) erkekti. Hastaların ortalama yaşı 65 bulundu. 23 hasta tedavi alırken, 33 hasta izlendi. 5 hasta klorambusil, 5 hasta siklofosfamid-fludarabin, 13 hasta rituksimab- siklofosfamid-fludarabin tedavisi aldı. Çalışma sonunda, ortalama sağkalım süresi 120 ay olarak bulundu. Çalışma boyunca 2 hasta hastalık dışı, 4 hasta hastalıkla ilgili nedenlerden kaybedildi. Sonuç: Çalışmamızda toplam sağkalım süresinin literatürdekilerden daha kısa olması, hastaların daha ileri evrelerde başvur- masına bağlandı.
