Our approach to antrochoanal polyps in childhood

Antrochoanal polyp (AP) is the one of the least common disease seen in childhood. It causes mostly unilateral nasal obstruction. The etiology of AP is still unclear. Polyp is removed surgically for treatment. In this article, between 2000 - 2004 years, 6 patients with antrochoanal polyp were presented. Their complaints were generally unilateral nasal discharge, weight loss and snoring. All patients were treated with endoscopic approach. Any reccurence was not seen in 14 months mean follow up.

Özet

Antrokoanal polip (AP), çocukluk çağında az görülen hastalıklardan biridir. Çoğunlukla tek taraflı nazal obstrüksiyona yol açar. Etiyolojisi hala aydınlatılamamıştır. Tedavi polibin cerrahi olarak çıkarılmasından ibarettir. Yazıda 2000-2004 yılları arasında takip edilen AP’li 6 hasta sunuldu. Hastaların hepsinde tek taraflı burun akıntısı, kilo kaybı ve horlama şikayetleri ortaktı. Olgular endoskopik olarak tedavi edildiler. Ortalama 14 aylık takipte nüks görülmedi.
