Abstract

The main purpose of the study, is to determine whether a relationship between with variables reflecting institutional quality (regulation quality, rule of law, corrup- tion control, political stability, government effectiveness, voice and accountabi- lity) and financial instability. In this context, to ensure financial stability in except for the macroeconomic variables, the role of institutional quality and the administ- rative activities of the country will be opened to discussion. In the study, regressi- on model was estimated using 2002-2012 period data. The empirical results are generally evaluated, political stability and accountability variables were not sta- tistically significant. However, the quality of regulation, rule of law, control of cor- ruption and government effectiveness variables were statistically significant. In other words, except political stability and accountability, the variables of instituti- onal quality shows that it reduces to financial instability in relevant period. Accor- ding to the results, the most important variable that is effective on financial insta- bility is the regulation quality.
