Abstract

This study aims to reveal the financial well-being of academic stuff. In this re- gard, in light of existing arguments and findings in the literature, hypotheses are established by taking into consideration such variables as the personnel’s tit- le, age, gender, marital status and post of duty. In order to test the validity of the hypotheses, a questionnaire is carried out on academic stuff at Dumlupinar Uni- versity. Covering all units of the University, the questionnaire produced a samp- le that consists of 246 people. The data set is analyzed with SPSS program by using such techniques as arithmetic mean, one-way analysis of variance (ANO- VA), Tukey test and t-test. The results suggest that the academic stuff is limitedly satisfied with their current financial well-being.

Özet

Çalışmanın amacı, akademik personelin finansal refah halini ölçmektir. Buna yö- nelik olarak literatürdeki tartışma ve bulguları esas almanın yanı sıra akademik personelin unvanı, yaşı, cinsiyeti, medeni durumu ve görev yeri değişkenleri de göz önünde bulundurarak hipotezler oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın hipotezlerini test etmek amacıyla Dumlupınar Üniversitesi’nin tüm birimlerinde görev yapan akademik personele yönelik anket uygulanmış ve 246 akademik personelden oluşan bir örneklem büyüklüğüne ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS progra- mı kullanılarak, aritmetik ortalama, tekyönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), Tukey tes- ti ve t testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Analizlerin sonucunda, çalışmaya katı- lan akademik personelin finansal refah durumlarından sınırlı düzeyde memnuni- yet duydukları bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.
