Abstract

The process of globalization has led to the liberalization of trade and economic integration. With the European Union, which can be given as a fundamental example of economic integration, started a new political formation process and many developments have emerged in the implementation of fiscal and monetary policy and with the effect of globalization, many changes occurred on the trade volume of countries which are members and non-members of EU. EU market, today, has a great importance in the volume of exports and imports for many countries including Turkey. Euro crisis has affected not only the economies of the member countries but also the economies having trade relationships with the members. Therefore, in this study, ten countries having the largest trade volume with the EU countries were determined and the effects of the crisis on the trade volume of these countries were analyzed using panel gravity model. In this context, during the period 1980-2014, data about bilateral trade flows between selected countries and EU were examined; in the models that have been estimated for import and export separately, income, population and distance have been included in the analysis
