Abstract

Can organizations turn into structures that know, understand, think and learn just like a human being? Human beings have gone through many stages since their birth. In the first stage, they have no idea what is happening around them. As time passed and they enhanced their experiences, began to understand, and think about it, and eventually learned from their past experiences and started to analyze the events around them. What about organizations? Peter M. Senge's Fifth Discipline book actually answers this question. The book guides readers on what the concept of learning organization is, the disciplines that constitute a learning organization, how to integrate these disciplines and how to use them in practice. The aim of this study is to examine the disciplines constituting the concept of learning organization in the context of management approaches and theories and to provide a perspective to those who will read the book.
