Abstract

In this study, a dual-band microstrip patch antenna was designed for high-speed communication systems. To meet the increasing demand for data transmission, a compact, low-profile, and PCB-based structure was targeted. By optimizing the size and position of the slots on the patch, dual-band operation was achieved at 4.73 GHz and 5.23 GHz frequencies. CST Studio Suite analyses showed that the antenna achieved a return loss below -10 dB, a VSWR value under 2, and a gain of 2.86 dBi. Radiation analysis revealed that the modification enhanced antenna directivity and reduced side lobe levels. The results indicate that the proposed antenna offers better impedance matching and stable dual-band performance compared to the conventional patch antenna. With its compact structure and low cost, it is a suitable candidate for WLAN and sub-5G band applications.
