Abstract

This study was conducted in 2024 to identify predatory Coccinellidae species associated with the invasive cotton mealybug, Phenacoccus solenopsis Tinsley, in cotton fields in Aydın province. Five species were identified: Coccinella septempunctata Linnaeus, Exochomus nigromaculatus (Goeze), Hippodamia variegata (Goeze), Nephus hiekei (Fürsch), and Nephus nigricans Weise. Among these, H. variegata and N. hiekei were the most common, while N. nigricans was recorded as a predator of P. solenopsis for the first time. These findings provide essential data for biological control and Integrated Pest Management strategies.
