Abstract

Pterula subulata is reported here as a new record for the macrofungal biota of Türkiye. The specimen was collected from a mixed Betula-Populus woodland near Geçitli Village, Hakkâri Province, where basidiomata were observed gregariously on soil adjacent to tree roots. Identification was based on traditional macromorphological and microscopic characters. The Turkish collection is characterised by delicate, hair-like, repeatedly branched clavarioid to coralloid basidiomata; hyaline, thin-walled, oval to ellipsoid basidiospores measuring 5-8.5 x 3-5 µm; cylindrical-clavate basidia measuring 35-50 x 7-9 µm with four sterigmata; and the absence of cystidia. The diagnostic features of the collection agree with published descriptions of P. subulata. This record contributes to the knowledge of Pterulaceae in Türkiye and highlights the importance of continued field-based macrofungal surveys in eastern Anatolia.
