Abstract

The annual incidence of diabetic foot ulcers varies between 1% and 4%, and the five-year mortality rate after amputation in these patients is reported to be between 39% and 80% (1). This patient group carries a high risk in the perioperative period due to the systemic effects of diabetes, advanced age, and accompanying comorbidities. This case presents the management of metabolic disorder and cardiac arrest that developed in a patient who underwent amputation due to diabetic foot, along with guideline recommendations.
