Abstract

Aim: This study is performed with the purpose of identifying the educational needs of patients hospi-talized in the surgery clinics.Material and methods: 80 patients who were hospi-talized with various surgical indications were included in the study. Demographic and clinical characteristics of all patients were recorded. The Patient Learning Needs Scale-PLNS was applied to all patients. Results: 48.6% of patients were 48 years old or youn-ger (mean age: 54.4 ± 7.8), 52.3% were male, 37.8% had education level of primary school or lower, 75.6% were married, 75.8% had not been hospitalized be fore. Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışma; cerrahi kliniklerinde yatan hastaların öğrenim gereksinimlerinin belirlenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır.Gereç ve yöntemler: Kliniğimize çeşitli ameliyat endikasyonlarından yatan 80 hasta çalışmaya alındı. Bütün hastaların demografik ve klinik özellikleri kaydedildi. Tüm hastalara "Hasta Öğrenim Gereksinimleri Ölçeği (HÖGÖ) uygulandı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hastaların %48.6'sı 48 yaş ve altında (yaş ortalaması:54.4±7.8), %52.3'ü erkek, %37.8'i ilkokul ve altı eğitim düzeyinde, %75.6'sı evli, %75.8'i daha önce hastaneye yatmadığı saptandı. HÖGÖ alt boyut puan ortalamaları; ilaçlar alt boyutu: 37.22±2.43, yaşam aktiviteleri: 38.31±4.78, toplum ve izlem:22.13±3.42, duruma ilişkin duygular:18.02±2.24, tedavi ve komplikasyonlar: 41.36±5.24, yaşam kalitesi:31.16±2.87, cilt bakımı: 20.13±3.8 ve ölçek toplamı 208.33±24.78 olarak bulundu.Sonuç: Hastaların öğrenme gereksinimlerinin daha yüksek olduğu ilaçlar, tedavi ve komplikasyonlara yönelik konularda eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi, mevcut taburculuk eğitim içeriğinin gözden geçirilmesi be bu konuda hemşirelik eğitimlerinde dikkat çekilmesi önerilir
