Abstract

Aim: This study aimed to examine the effects of occupational therapy–based telerehabilitation applications on fine motor skills, functional independence, and caregiver burden in children with hemiparesis. Methods: A total of 20 children with hemiparesis, aged 6–12 years and residing in Istanbul, were included in the study between March and November 2024. Interventions were conducted in both clinical settings and online telerehabilitation environments. Assessments were performed before and after the intervention using the Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory Computer Adaptive Test (PEDI-CAT), Pediatric Functional Independence Measure (WeeFIM), and Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI). Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 25.0, and the level of significance was set at p 0.05). Statistically significant differences were identified between groups in some parameters. A significant reduction in caregiver burden was also observed. Conclusion: Occupational therapy–based telerehabilitation applications were found to have positive effects on fine motor skills and functional independence in children with hemiparesis and may contribute to reducing caregiver burden.

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, hemiparezili çocuklarda ergoterapi temelli telerehabilitasyon uygulamalarının ince motor beceriler, fonksiyonel bağımsızlık ve bakım veren yükü üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Yöntem: Çalışmaya, Mart–Kasım 2024 tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da yaşayan 6–12 yaş aralığında 20 hemiparezili çocuk dahil edilmiştir. Müdahaleler klinik ortam ve çevrimiçi telerehabilitasyon ortamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Değerlendirmeler müdahale öncesi ve sonrası Engellilik Envanterinin Pediatrik Değerlendirmesi Bilgisayar Uyarlanabilir Testi (PEDI-CAT), Pediatrik Fonksiyonel Bağımsızlık Ölçeği (PFBÖ) ve Zarit Bakıcı Yük Ölçeği (ZBYÖ) ile yapılmıştır. Veriler IBM SPSS 25.0 programında analiz edilmiş, anlamlılık düzeyi p 0.05). Gruplar arasında bazı parametrelerde anlamlı farklılıklar belirlenmiştir. Bakım veren yükünde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı azalma gözlenmiştir. Sonuç: Ergoterapi temelli telerehabilitasyon uygulamalarının hemiparezili çocuklarda ince motor beceriler ve fonksiyonel bağımsızlık üzerinde olumlu etkiler sağladığı ve bakım veren yükünü azaltabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
