Abstract
This study examines the social impacts of fiscal policies through the examples of the Poujade Movement and the Yellow Vests Movement in France. Although these two movements emerged in different periods, they both reflect public reactions against tax injustice and rising living costs. While the Poujade Movement represents the resistance of small tradesmen against heavy tax burdens, the Yellow Vests Movement encompassed a broader and more heterogeneous social structure, emerging as a response to fuel taxes and income inequality. The study emphasizes that the effects of fiscal policies on daily life can trigger social movements and that sustainable fiscal policies should depend not only on economic indicators but also on fairness and social legitimacy.
