This study aims to analyze the personality structure of the renowned German literary figüre Johann Wolfgang von Goethe using the Enneagram model. The Enneagram is a dynamic model that defines nine distinct personality types and reveals the relationships among an individual’s core fears, desires, motivations and behavioral patterns. The first part of the study discusses the concept of personality, basic personality theories, personality tests and the differences between personality and temperament. The second part examines the historical development of the Enneagram, its fundamental concepts and provides information about the nine types. In the third part, Goethe’s typology is determined through the Enneagram method based on his autobiography and life story. The findings regarding personality type have been elaborated in detail as a result of the analysis. With these characteristics, he significantly aligns with Type 7 in the Enneagram personality model. This study aims to both contribute a resource to the Enneagram literature and introduce the personality analysis of an important figüre of German literature to the field.

Bu çalışma, ünlü Alman edebiyatçı Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’nin kişilik yapısını Enneagram modeliyle analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Enneagram, dokuz farklı kişilik tipini tanımlayan ve bireyin temel korkuları, arzuları, motivasyonları ile davranış kalıpları arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koyan dinamik bir modeldir. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde kişilik kavramı, temel kişilik kuramları, kişilik testleri ve mizaç kavramı arasındaki farklar ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde Enneagram’ın tarihsel gelişimi ve temel kavramları incelenmiş, tipler hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Goethe’nin otobiyografisinden yola çıkılarak yaşam öyküsü üzerinden Enneagram yöntemiyle tipolojisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda kişilik tipine yönelik özellikleri ayrıntılarıyla aktarılmıştır. Bu özellikleriyle, Enneagram kişilik modelinde Tip 7 ile önemli ölçüde örtüştüğü tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, hem Enneagram literatürüne bir kaynak sunmayı hem de Alman Edebiyatının önemli bir şahsiyetinin kişilik analizini alana kazandırmayı hedeflemektedir.
