Abstract
Through the initiatives of the Republic of Türkiye and/or its support to the Turkish communities living in Belgium and/or the initiatives of Turkish communities living there, Turkish language and history courses are regularly provided to Turkish immigrants and subsequent generations in order to maintain ties with their homeland. The Brussels Embassy, the Brussels Education Attaché Office of the Ministry of National Education, the Yunus Emre Institute, and the Belgium Representation of the Turkish Maarif Foundation are the main institutions that ensure the preservation and perpetuation of the Turkish language, Turkish identity, and history. There are also associations that cooperate with the Republic of Türkiye and the Kingdom of Belgium in this regard. Within the framework of lifelong learning and inclusivity, Turkish people who have been living in Belgium for at least two generations (Turkish people who have acquired Belgian citizenship also) and foreigners also request the opening of Turkish language courses from the authorities. In Belgium, where a large Turkish population lives, studies on the Turkish language, history, and culture not only ensure the national identity of Turkish immigrants but also constitute the soft power elements of educational diplomacy. In this study, Turkish language and culture courses, which are the soft power of educational diplomacy, are examined in terms of their aims, structure, and processes under the organizational elements that provide these courses.
