Özet

Paladyum, platin grubu bir metaldir ve güçlü katalitik aktiviteye sahiptir. Kuersetin, güçlü antioksidan kapasitesine sahip bir flavonoiddir. Bu çalışmada, paladyum klorürün sıçanların akciğer dokusunda indüklediği toksisiteye karşı kuersetinin korucu özelliği araştırılmıştır. 24 deney hayvanı, her grupta eşit sayıda olacak şekilde rastgele 4 gruba ayrılmıştır. Bu gruplar; Kontrol grubu, Kuersetin grubu (30 mg/kg v.a.), Paladyum grubu (8 mg/kg v.a.) ve Kuersetin+Paladyum grubudur. Uygulamalar oral gavaj yoluyla, 28 gün boyunca gerçekleştirilmiştir. Paladyum uygulanan sıçanların akciğer dokularındaki MDA miktarında kontrol grubundaki sıçanların MDA miktarına göre anlamlı bir artış meydana gelmiştir. Aynı zamanda Paladyum grubundaki sıçanların SOD, CAT, GPx ve GST antioksidan enzim aktivitelerinde, kontrol grubundaki sıçanların antioksidan enzim aktivitelerine göre anlamlı bir azalma ile birlikte akciğer dokularında kontrol grubuna kıyasla histopatolojik değişiklikler ve immunhistokimyasal değişimler gözlenmiştir. Kuersetin+Paladyum uygulamalı grup ile Paladyum uygulamalı grup karşılaştırıldığında akciğer dokularındaki MDA miktarı azalırken, antioksidan enzim aktivitelerinde anlamlı bir artış olmuştur. Ayrıca histopatolojik ve immunhistokimyasal değişimlerde iyileşmeler gözlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar paladyum klorürün toksik etkisine karşı kuersetinin onarıcı etkisini göstermiştir.
